Isn't it a bit preemptive having a law that "prevents circumvention" because it can potentially lead to something that isn't the only reason people would want to "circumvent" something they own?
DRM is unfair, and these measures are too preemptive to prevent piracy, while they punish users who just want to keep and use their things in a few years.
Companies can prevent piracy by doing better and allowing ownership, but the current DMCA law shouldn't be without criticism, either.
