I was recently wondering; did the Apple Newton make itself from an obsolete/retired product into the retro/hobby space? Or is it in the wasteland of products that had their time in the limelight, and are gone now?

@newtontalk Sounds like my kind of people! 😁
I had wondered if the devices required a server that could have been disbanded years ago.
Edit: However, if that was the case, I had a precedent to rely upon. Years ago, when Microsoft sunsetted the Money product, it had external dependencies that limited its usefulness. The enthusiast community banded together, making patches and other workarounds, to bring near-full fidelity of features back.
@AncTreat5358 The #NewtonOS platform is self contained, but can be extended via various networking, including wifi, ethernet, and Bluetooth. There’s also a multi platform emulator that’s in active development.
