@InnerVisioner I wasn't sure what to think when I saw it. As though the string players had been threatened and were doing it against their will, let alone principles.
@InnerVisioner I'm sure I'd see it differently now. I mean, an electrifying moment for me was seeing Tricky perform Black Steel in '95 on The Word, with besuited musicians looking like they were taking time out from the Proms. It was incredible.
@sodslawyer I think in latter years there was much more openness to younger/older musicians working together. But yeah, back in ‘80 it would have been the BBC guys being grumpy about “degenerate New Yorkers” etc.
