Fynn Ellie BeThat sudden spike in requests Wikimedia served an hour or so ago. Is there a link to Wikipedia banning archive.today or is this just a random coincidence?
Feels very DDoS-y to me. Normally Wikipedia is rock solid.

The fediverse is a massive DDoS source - post a link, and _all_ the servers will create a preview.
Also, if it got to HN, or other news aggregators, they could get Slashdotted.
