You may have seen this going around. It is garbage. Please don't spread misinformation.

You cannot end U.S. hunger for anything like $10 billion a year. We already spend $100B/year on SNAP alone; it "reduces the overall prevalence of food insecurity by as much as 30 percent" according to the USDA. <https://www.cbpp.org/research/food-assistance/snap-is-linked-with-improved-health-outcomes-and-lower-health-care-costs>

I've seen estimates that we could eliminate ~90% of remaining food insecurity with a ~$400B/yr UBI program. I'm not saying we should or shouldn't do it; I'm saying the tweet is off by a factor of 40 at least.

The $38 billion ICE number in the tweet, though, is accurate (but a one-time expenditure vs. the hypothetical annual ones). Abolish ICE.
