I nearly died. I have no car. Not enough money to get a new one. No insurance that'll cover a new one. No credit.

I don't know if I can stream or anything anymore.

@rogueren only thing that can be done is public transport or getting some kind of bike/ electric small vehicle if it's in the budget. Other than that, motorcycle are cheaper option than a car, if not then 3 wheel vehicle. You are going to have to make a sacrifice on convenience somewhere. Best of luck, I'm glad your health was not part of the bad day.
@prominence There is no public transport, there are no bike lanes, I don't have a license for a motocycle (plus they scare the shit out of me).
@rogueren
Hey ren, I was moving clients and remembered this post, did you end up finding a substitute for transport?
@prominence yeah I got another car after a month or two that I've been paying off
@rogueren
Ooooo 😲 nice, which of the tri direction did you lean more towards? Reliable, performance, or economical

@prominence eco and reliable, older Toyota Prius

Eventually gonna ask a car mechanic friend to make it into a full-fledged plug-in hybrid that can run full electric if I want it to. But that'll be years and years down the road

@rogueren
That's a good idea, you also have an option for partial battery swap if only a few of the battery cells are bad, which is an economical option than Swapping the whole battery . (For those that choose no warranty). info for future reference.
@prominence It's a used car there is no warranty and I'd need to swap out the entire battery and some of the electronic parts in order to make it a full plug in hybrid because right now it's the old-school kind that always runs the electricity along with the gas at the same time. You can't pick one or the other.
@rogueren
If I remember right, you have to make sure the vents around the seats that cool the battery are cleaned so that they don't get clogged to avoid overhearting the battery. Its surprising how easy it is to forget, similar to cleaning out the computer dust after some time.
@prominence again, I'm mot the one who is gonna do this. I just know it's possible. I leave car stuff to the friend who is a professional mechanic lol
@rogueren
🤣 good point.
