I'm over caffeinated, so here goes:

Climate change and inequality are the real problems of the world.

Immigration is a made up problem to distract you from this.

It is a fire lit by the people that would be mildly inconvenienced by addressing those other problems.

It's not even a made up problem, it's the consequence of the first two.

If white people hadn't enslaved large parts of the world, stolen everything small enough to fit on a ship¹, drawn borders with no regards to tribes and culture differences and turned their land into desert via climate change, there wouldn't be any poor immigrants fleeing to our borders.

As a Brit, I (sadly) agree with all of this. Our best trick as a collapsing Empire was the "draw a line on a map and then run away (preferably with valuable stuff), knowing that the locals will be distracted by fighting each other and won't notice who was actually responsible" one. We did it all over the place.
