@octothorpe What is dosh? This is for TV watching with two homepods. No fancy 9:1 audio or any of that stuff. We are too old to enjoy it.

@octothorpe Oh haha. We will insulate the room from the furnace that is on the other side of the wall, and likely have some low pile carpet, but that is about the most I will do. Maybe over time I will spiff it up with fancier audio and acoustics, for now we just want to sit and relax and watch a show. It's going to be a big change for us as we split off our living room for non-tv stuff. Never had that before.

@steveriggins we don’t have one in our living room either — but we do have a stereo (system 4 of 5). The big TV isn’t even on the main floor. It’s upstairs in my study (along with System 1 for audio). It’s off for weeks at a time. I play a lot of records/CDs and stream stuff via Roon. The room is overfilled, as I have accumulated a lot in our 23 years of living together (25+ total).

@octothorpe Damn. Yeah we just don't have the ear/taste for that. Anything will work for the crap we watch lol. We just don't listen to music, at least outside of AirPods or the car. I downsized from my Sonos Playbar + sub to two HomePods 2 and it's been just fine for us, but some more surround some day might be nice. I just like the simplicty of set it and forget it, I don't even need a control box. I'm basic these days. I used to have receivers, NHTs, centers, huge sub but tinnitus ruined that

@steveriggins I used to run multichannel, but decided I enjoy stereo more. So all the fancy speakers got split into different systems, each with their own personality. I love being able to play the same song yet have vastly different experiences with it depending on the system (ex: normal box speakers vs planar ribbons). I still have my ears tho.
