Museums don't build job skills. That's what many people think. But our newest experiential learning program is not only preparing these #UniversityOfGeorgia students for their next step, it's also building bridges between campus and community.

Callan Steinmann (director of learning and engagement) and Kaitlyn Loyd (associate curator of school, youth and family programs) have been working with student gallery teachers to teach them how to lead interactive gallery tours and family programs.
Sophia Nguyen, a third-year undergraduate majoring in international affairs and art history, was inspired by years of visiting museums while traveling with her family. “I resonated with their mission to make information about the past more accessible, significant and powerful in the present,” she said. “The Georgia Museum of Art has the same mission right here on campus, and I thought: why not take the chance to do the same?”
