دفعتنا المعلومات المتعلقة بالتهديدات الصريحة التي تستهدف أطفالكم[1][2] إلى أن نطلب منكم:

  • الامتناع عن استخدام صور أو مقاطع فيديو لأطفالكم دون إخفاء وجوههم
  • الامتناع عن الإشارة إلى موقعكم والتقاط صور أو مقاطع فيديو لأماكن يمكن التعرف عليها من الخارج
  • حذف أو تعديل رسائلكم التي تحتوي على صور/مقاطع فيديو/معلومات حساسة

نحن جمعية غير ربحية بدون هيكل رسمي. نحن نتفهم أن هذه الأموال هي مصدر رزقكم الوحيد وأنكم في حالة أقل إلحاحًا، لن تشاركوا هذه المعلومات. لهذا السبب نبحث عن حلول لمواصلة إيصال أصواتكم وزيادة الوعي باحتياجاتكم دون تعريضكم لمزيد من التهديدات الخارجية.

I fully agree with this statement.
However, we must be careful that we are supporting the people of Gaza, not telling them what to do.
My concern is that there will be some people who, for various reasons, will be hesitant to change their current ways.
We must avoid making such people disadvantaged or feel blamed.

In the first place, the decision to make images of oneself and one's family publicly available to an unspecified number of people must be a bitter one. Yet it is something that has no choice but to be done. The people of Gaza have long known this.
In any case, I hope that this action does not cause friction and division.

For example, if someone posts with images that may be risky, it would be inappropriate to simply say, "I'm not going to share these posts." Of course, I understand that this statement is made in good faith, but it could be perceived negatively by the poster and could put them at a disadvantage by not actually sharing it.

My alternative suggestion is that when faced with a post that poses such a risk, copy the text, tag their account and the donation link, and post it as a new post.
While this may or may not be welcomed by the original poster, at least they will recognize our sincerity.

This is to Palestinians:
I've been deeply moved by photos of you and your families.
So I don't underestimate the power of images.
But images that could identify you are certainly risky.
You might want to change your tactic.
For example, show your child from behind instead of showing their face from the front.
Or hold them tightly against your chest so only their hair is visible.
Or small details like their hands.
These methods also can evoke strong emotion.

Of course, this must be done respectfully. If we want to share a message containing a photo of a child with their face visible, we can also hide the face ourselves and send them the modified photo for their message (a bit like alt text).

And it's worth noting that on their phones, the vast majority of default image editing apps allow you to add a “sticker” over faces.
