As an #avgeek, I'm cool with selling as many airplanes as possible. Each sale makes GA stronger.

However, #GAMA is reporting (via this AIN article) that bizjet sales were WAY up YoY in 2025.

"The airplane billings soared to $31 billion, a 16.1% leap over the $26.7 billion reported in 2024. The business jet segment drove these increases, with deliveries up by 11.8% to 854."

There are two ways to see there are too many billionaires. Yacht and Bizjet sales.

@Av8rdan As a pilot who flew bizjets for more than twenty years you might see how I'd have mixed feelings about all this. Bizjets are remarkably useful, not just luxury items like yachts are. We flew whole groups of people around the country and they told us pilots they were able to get done in two days what would have taken them a whole week if they'd used airlines. I also knew business owners who spent almost all their time in the airplane working. One told us he loved flying because it was the only time he could be left alone and think about what he was working on. I know about all the problems people have with such aircraft, but there is a wide range of these jets and not all of them are "billionaire" carriers. I don't know what the answer is, but I feel bizjets in one form or another will be around for a long time not for status but for their usefulness in business.

@flyhigh I agree. I wrote for NBAA for years so I know the value of business aviation. That covers the owner-pilot in a Cessna 310 or Baron all the way to Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos in their Gulfstreams.

I was just making the point that you can tell there are more very rich people who are buying the jets. It was no way a knock on bizjets. Yes, they will be around a long time, and yes, they can be huge time savers. I just wish so many CEO types that fly in them were not so evil.

@Av8rdan Well said. I flew CE-650 and CE-750 and loved them. What beautiful aircraft. I hope bizjets will get better as far as emissions but I don't know how that would work. It's tough when you know how great these airplanes are but they become mired in people's ideas, often pretty true, about the obscenely wealthy who sometimes own them.
