In line with how we have language classes despite/because we all regularly speak and write our main language, and we (used to? should?) have at least one class for practicing typing properly. Now that taking, sharing, receiving photographs is a near constant part of many people's lives: photography should be a required course.
Ofc also I strongly believe creative courses should be encouraged/required just like phys ed, financial literacy and home ec, cooking, should be required. And there should be lessons on fucking cleaning. While the latter are more often seen as necessary for responsible adult living, and I often argue that creative courses expand ones ability to engage with other materials and interests in a more fulfilling and varied way, I'm more arguing that photography and *image literacy* should be as crucial to teach as language literacy
