After discovering Portland Syrups, I might actually start using my #SodaStream. I was so disappointed when I got it a few years ago and then discovered that all of their official syrups have artificial sweetener in them.

Thankfully, Portland Syrups are just sugar, no artificial sweetener, and they actually taste good.

The big deal for me, aside from the fact that they have less sugar than pre-made sodas, is the fact that they have no caffeine. I almost never drink caffeinated soda, so I miss out on being able to drink various colas (I stick mostly with lemon-lime or orange). Now I can have cola, or even cherry cola, without the caffeine.
@cgrymala looking forward to a review.

@tryon I've tried their True Cola syrup and their Root Beer syrup so far, and they're very good. I could have made them sweeter (I'm trying to get 3 servings out of each 3 oz trial bottle), but the flavor is great.

Trying the Vanilla one tomorrow. Then I'll have to order more, and will probably get the Cherry/Pomegranate one and one of the Ginger options (I'll order those in 3 oz again if I can, and order at least the Root Beer and Cola ones in 12 oz bottles).

They're also caffeine-free.

@tryon but you can order caffeinated simple syrup to add caffeine and sweeten them more if you want.
@cgrymala Artificial sweeteners suck.

@Jeffro @cgrymala Some do. But I’m a very happy Pepsi Max drinker these days. You get used to it. And they don’t come with sugar rushes/crashes and excess calorie consumption.

It’s hard to find “fat Coke” in the UK as it got “sugar taxed” to the margins.

And I’m really happy with that.

@ross @Jeffro to each their own, but I'd rather have something less sweet than something with artificial sweetener in it. Every artificial sweetener I've ever tried has an aftertaste that I just can't get over.
