Tech Bros think they’re doing humanity a favor by using our culture as nothing more than raw material for their “crank out recycled, generic shit for almost nothing”-machines because they have no understanding, let alone appreciation of said culture. None at all.

@chrisstoecker “Es macht keinen Spaß, Musik zu machen, da braucht man ja Instrumente und Zeit”. 🙈 Das I in AI steht für Idiotie und Inhumanität.
@chrisstoecker what scares me most is not the statement itsself (this guy has clearly never played in any band / orchestra) but that people tossing such statements end up in charge of multi billion dollar companies.
@chrisstoecker Adam Neely published a fantastic video essay on this topic:

@FlippoFlip @chrisstoecker loving it how he comes to the conclusion
virtual reality sucks 👌💥🎯
Cause it does. What I see is whatever AI people use, it makes‘em more lonely with time. They use it for recreation - music or film, for healing as a therapist, for diverse work … unconsciously and slowly they stop meeting friends - instead they talk to those bots, trust them
That’s when it starts being dangerous 4 manipulation. We‘re strong when friends back us up, but weak when we r alone…

Top! Das Video hab' ich auch gerade gefunden :) #Neely #Suno
@chrisstoecker As someone who actually creates production software for musicians I cannot state enough how clueless he is. The users enjoy the process, sometimes to an obsessive level and are usually eager to try and learn new tools. Music sure as hell isn't an effective way to make money, so if you don't enjoy the process and can be proud of what you created what's left? Nobody's gonna want to hear your soul-less prompt output.
@claes As someone who plays several instruments (most of them badly) I fully agree.
