I love the Swift Playground[s] app, but I'd really like to know what the excuse is for not having updated it with iOS 26 support. It's already criminal that it doesn't keep the SDK in sync with Xcode's release schedule, but to not even enable Playgrounds developers (many who can't afford a Mac) to build or submit apps with the new features (like Foundation Models) or Liquid Glass support seems particularly unfair. Why isn't there even an ongoing TestFlight track?
@stroughtonsmith Maybe they’re finally working on Xcode for iPad. It was slated to be released mid-WWDC-cycle, but then the whole Apple Intelligence fiasco happened, then Xcode’s pivot from Swift Assist (or whatever the name was) to agents happened, and now it’s stuck in a not-releasable state while Swift Playgrounds is already written off.
