@mario_angst_sci It sounds good, at this stage I would probably have to read the English version!

I feel very worn down by arguments about flying in particular lately. Even people who are supportive of climate-friendly local travel seem to be blind here, and usually bring up this idea of personal action being ineffective, which is very frustrating.

@jroper It is a good read! But probably a bit tough in terms of vacabulary as a German reading exercise 😅.
I feel you about the flying question. I get so many versions of the "I know it is bad, but..." on this currently, which I just cannot rationally parse. I mean we live in an itself gorgeous country with great ground based connections to a whole amazing, culturally and biogeographically diverse continent. So I really think this need to fly to the other side of the world for stimulus is just a failure of imagination and lack of capacity for wonder. And less flying, given alternatives, really does not seem to be something high on the list of deprivations. And yeah, do not get me started on scientists and their air miles...
I have gone over to just somewhat quietly walk the talk on this and what has been working I think is playfully admonishing people for their sins... we will see.

@mario_angst_sci Yes very much so for people here.

For people in the US, I wonder lately if the fact that rich Americans just fly to Europe or Japan when they want to spend time in safe, walkable cities contributes to under-motivation to fix their local problems? Perhaps a bit eccentric...

Yeah, I try to just live our way and speak about it when relevant too, but every so often get sucked into an argument on reddit or hear something depressing.
