Gnosia! That's the deduction game I was trying to remember last year. ChatGPT could only suggest AI: The Somnium Files based on my vague description.
The Gnosia anime was mentioned on a recent episode of @show
Thanks Insert Credit!
This is exactly the kind of thing I want to solve with my personal game-bookshelf site idea.
Whenever someone recommends a game, instead of adding it to a single huge Steam wishlist, you could add it to a specific genre shelf (or a "mood" shelf, "source" shelf, whatever you like).
Everything would stay on its shelf even once you bought it, for whenever you feel like playing something in that mood.
You could pick up any game from a shelf and see which of your other shelves it was on, maybe a link to the blog or wherever you saw the recommendation.
Shelves could be shared publicly, to act as recommendations or reference lists. "Insert Credit's Games of the Year 2025", say.
So instead of a static list, you'd link your Steam account to see which games you already own, your hours played, achievements, which friends play them too.
