I am determined to force my way through this game! I restarted (again) and have just been running around doing things.

I killed an owl bear tonight and honestly I felt really bad about it. Like I almost reloaded from a previous save.

@the_skotts Hot take: if you have to force yourself through a game, maybe you don't actually enjoy it and should play something else. It's OK if a game that others love doesn't click for you. That doesn't say anything bad about you as a player or a person, only that this just might not be your jam. Disclaimer: coming from someone for whom BG3 is top 5 favorite games of all his nearly 40 year gaming history.

@mosu no there's a lot about this game that I do enjoy. My biggest actual criticism of it is just that DnD rules and mechanics in a video game can feel clunky at times.

I say "force" because my previous attempts to play it have all stalled because the amount of choices, things to do and see sometimes feels overwhelming and I end up not being able to make a decision to move things along. So I'm just trying to make myself do things to get the story going. It's very much a me problem.

@the_skotts Ah, I misunderstood you. Sorry about that 😁 Hope you have a better time & a lot of fun this time around. Edit: and I totally understand what you mean about decision paralysis; I suffer from that in a limited way, too, but usually I can trick myself to ignore the anxiety
