Ist euch eigentlich schon mal aufgefallen, das hauptsächlich Mastodon user immer wieder betonen und hervorheben müssen, das sie "auf Mastodon" sind und nicht im Fediverse?

Alle restlichen BewohnerInnen des Fediverse, sprechen in der Mehrzahl über das und vom Fediverse 🤔

Habt ihr irgend welche Verlustängste, die ihr kompensieren müsst, das ihr diese Insellösung im ganzen Netzwerk immer so betonen müsst?

Wenn ihr diese Energie dem ganzen Netzwerk zukommen lassen würdet, wären viel mehr Menschen geholfen, denn nicht alle suchen so ein Notizzettel Tool, andere suchen vielleicht was für mehr Text, für mehr Bilder, für Galerien, für echte Gruppen, usw.

Promotet das ganze Fediverse und nehmt die Wünsche der Menschen ernst und geht auf sie zu.

@crossgolf_rebel Good point. I guess it is easy to equate mastodon with the fediverse and forget all the feeds and services that participate. I appreciate that it is an open experience, user supported, that I control, not some corporate overlord and I can follow and comment as I want. #mastodon #fediverse #activitypub

@K9UNZ It's a sad reason why I wrote this post.
This has been going on for over 8 years now, but at some point, patience and keeping quiet come to an end.

Not everyone wants a short message service, just as not everyone was on Twitter in the past.
If that were the case, they would have to advertise Friendica like crazy.

@crossgolf_rebel I left X as soon as Bozo the Clown bought it. Eventually I discovered Mastodon and ran my own instance for a while until I realized I spent more time updating and worrying about the technology. The whole eco system is maturing and it is good to see.

@K9UNZ I left Twitter in 2018 after more than 10 years.
Instead of hosting myself, I have someone else do it. My time is limited, and I'd rather chat with you all than spend it on maintenance and updates.

Unlike you, I've always been here and have tried many services. Mastodon has too many restrictions that are unnecessary in the Fediverse, which is why I don't use it anymore. I prefer Friendica, although I like the Misskey/Sharkey line better.

@crossgolf_rebel Thanks for this! Friendica will run on my existing LAMP server so I'm going to put up an instance and check it out! I've been running LAMP sites for almost as long as LAMP has been available... I'm old. Worth a try. #fediverse #activitypub #mastodon #friendica
