Development of Entropictron 1.2 has started with a new Random Gate module. It randomly silences the input sound, with parameters for silence duration, interval timing, and gain range (how much the sound is silenced). #audioplugins

I'm a big fan of extreme sound mangling (maybe you know) and from the description I would say this feature belongs to this category. Your feature sounds for me like the periodic silencing effect some commercial audio plugin providers add to their test versions to urge customers to buy the full version. 😉

@sjaehn Hi, thanks! Yes, the whole idea of the plugin is moving in that direction. The next module will be a bitcrusher. Recently, I’ve been studying different databending/datamoshing workflows to see if I can bring a similar concept into a plugin module, but in a real-time and more controllable way.
