OvroFedi hivemind, what the heck is this thing I'm supposed to get cataloged? It was in a box of tools used by a late ceramic artist. A friend of mine deduces it was manufactured by Peugeot and the logo was in use from 1889 to 1910. But what IS it?
sukkoria@ovro only thing I can do is provide you with the French text: "Peugeot Pièces" (ie. "Peugeot Spare Parts") and "Acier chromé" ("Chrome Steel")… at the time (and still now) Peugeot produced a lot of different stuff from cars to pepper mills (although your part is likely too big for a pepper mill)
