In the Age of AI Writing Tools, I Picked Emacs for My Sci-Fi Novel - Europe Pub

As a decades long Vim user, this article made me consider looking at emacs again. I’m interested in learning more of the nitty gritty of his implementation than the broad over view given here.
I’ve never used it. I like VIM a great deal, but there’s certainly room for improvement. Emacs would be a big change and I’m scared. I’m constantly learning about my system and how to do things, and I don’t know if I have brain space to learn a new text editor too.

Clay, my fren, I'm 67 years old, brain space rotting away more every day ☺

I agree that Emacs is different but it's different in a good way. Also, some smart person made a vim emulation mode for Emacs. Actually, I think there are several vim emulators.

End result is that I haven't had to re-learn new key bindings; I just use the same vi/vim key bindings I've used for 40 years.

I’ll check this out, thank you very much.

I don’t know if I have brain space to learn a new text editor too.

That is pretty much what has stopped me from even attempting to learn emacs over the years.
