Why listen?

There are wars in this world right now – and there always have been.

There’s corruption and immorality exploding in the sky like dark fireworks almost every day, and maybe there always have been, maybe it just became more normal to have them flicker across Your small screen almost in real time and make You numb and numbered.

There’s the Epstein files and the ICE crimes, there’s climate change denial and a return to fossil fuels, there’s Spotify exploiting musicians, who they barely pay, and customers, who they feed with more and more soulless AI-songs.
And what these feeds and streamers also do is they make You feel small and unimportant. There are millions of people who listen to the same podcasts and the same music, who have some taste and still some moral compass, who feel as powerless as you; bad things happen even though there’s so many good people, so why worry? Feeds and streamers want you to give up, lay back and just let Yourself fall into their gentle lukewarm river of empty muzak, inhale their advertising and pay their monthly fees.
Which is why I took my music off Spotify and Amazon. Never looked back, never felt better. So it’s just a few other streaming services (even if they’re not exactly saints either…) and Bandcamb. Subvert seems to be pretty cool, too. I joined as a founding member (it’s free) and I’m pretty impressed so far.
@ajaynemusic I will also leave them for sure in the future. what's the difference between subvert and bandcamp?
Subvert is collectively owned by all founding members. They are also on Insta by the way.
@ajaynemusic Since today I'm also a founding member. Thanks for the idea! Let's see what we can make out of it!
And thanks so much for your purchase on Bandcamp! 🙏☺️
