@kildey I have been a Slackware user for years and the hostility I see more and more inside the Linux world, I've been contemplating a UNIX alt...not to replace Slackware but a tool for Servers and Workstations.

@kildey Right now I’m deciding which hardware to anchor initial work on. I’m leaning toward older ThinkPads (I have a few available) or possibly Framework laptops.

I’m also waiting to hear back from a friend who runs a repair shop about any server or workstation hardware we can use for testing.

@cyberia I'd go with the older ThinkPads if it was me (ether would be fine) but that's my personal opinion.

As for server & workstation hardware I could help out with ether or both but the distance between us would be to far to make it worthwhile.

Hopefully your friend comes through with the hardware needed for testing & look forward to hearing more as to what is happening regarding progress.
