The #Epstein case really makes me mad.

At first I thought it was just another conspiracy theory by the right but unfort it did happen, maybe not in the way they described but truly horrible

Currently there is SO MUCH information public but nothing is happening, no investigations, no answers, just deflections

I know there are several sites out there that already offer info but I also wanna contribute to let this not go unseen and forgotten

@stux I don't comment on this part of the story much, but you and I have some comment history so I trust you to get that I'm saying this without defending Trump, Epstein, or any of the perpetrators of crimes these emails point towards...

... the wheels of justice turn slowly and carefully for very good reason. I think it can be argued that what is happening in America right now is exactly why the Biden administration did not publicize these documents. As a result of their publication, there is a firestorm of allegation going on, none of which can become court cases because these emails are, broadly, circumstantial evidence. There was also such a failure to redact that someone got into one of the email accounts and messed with it, so that entire cache of evidence is now tainted.

We don't generally do this part of the process of justice in public because our laws are crafted to protect the innocent, and that includes granting presumption of innocence to people when the executive process effs up so bad that it cannot protect the rights of the accused; we'd rather let them go than hand the "crown" the tools to bend the rules to deprive people of life and liberty.

It is possible that releasing these documents in this form is doing more harm than good. Not to billionaires, because fuck 'em... To the entire process of justice, the victims, and the public. The first casualty is the public's feeling that justice is doable in a situation like this.

@stux Yeah it's pretty crazy, nothing is happening to the american politicians etc. I think there are some investigations happening on the european politicians in there?

I think I remember seeing (on X unfortunately) from some MEP that if a politician in Europe was accused of sexual misconduct, unlike in the US, their career would be pretty much over.

So lets hope that more happens as a result of these released files!

@stux

But of course they're investigating the Clintons!

This is the reason they’re not releasing all at once.

The Slow Release of the Epstein Files Is Psychological Conditioning . . . and It’s Working

The public is being shown just enough to know the truth, and to understand that nothing is going to happen.
