The 16th Century Elizabethan font at St Peter, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire for #FontsOnFriday. It's inscribed ER 1570 with the royal arms of England. The splendid font cover is claimed as being 17th Century, though I do wonder if it was elaborated later. 1/2
2/2 A close-up of ER 1570 and the royal arms of England on the font at St Peter, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. The church is open every day.
3/3 St Peter, Huddersfield, looking east towards Ninian Comper's 1921 baldacchino and east window. The galleries date from the 1830s rebuilding, though the wooden panelling fronting them may be from the earlier church.
