i really hate it when people make these fediblock posts and they're like 'of course it's misskey' or 'of course it's pleroma' or whatever, when most of the nazi or pedo instances are on mastodon, they're never like 'of course mastodon' mastodon.social federates with Meta/Facebook, is terribly moderated etc.

stop acting like Mastodon is inherently progressive and smaller platforms are inherently fascistic, it's really fucked up considering how these alternative platforms are popular among queer/trans people or just people who want a different experience

@mook what's supposedly up with misskey? I probably don't have my fingers on the pulse of these things as much as I should, because I have no clue what you are referring to, and I wish I did to avoid supporting fascists through my ignorance.

@bovaz oh i really don't know, other than they're Japanese and there are multiple forks of misskey around, possum.city runs a fork of misskey, the reason being it's a solid platform with many unique and fun features mastodon doesn't have

a lot of these forks have had very rocky histories and/or were abandoned, I think some of them were actually maintained by nazis, and other forks were falsely accused of being nazis, would like to hear from someone more knowledgeable about this actually #calkey #misskey #firefish #iceshrimp #sharkey
