Gemma Amor: Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this the tale of white pines
Amor: now fair warning, this story does involve a lot of geometry
Lovecraft: [sweats]
Amor: but don't worry
Amor: it's Euclidian
Lovecraft: oh thank god
Lovecraft: i was worried for a second there!
2
Amor: it's about a woman who has four fingers and she goes to a mysterious island where there's this recurring symbol of a triangle with four dots
Amor: wait a second
Amor: four fingers
Amor: four dots
Amor: four fingers
Amor: four dots
Amor: four fingers
Amor: four dots
Amor: wait a minute
Amor: wait a minute
Amor: this means something!
3
Amor: this woman feels drawn to this mysterious island
Amor: but does she actually feel a physical draw? or is it only her overworked imagination that has caused her to believe it?
Amor: is her head hurting because of her link to the island? or is it only a coincidence?
Amor: maybe she's just dehydrated or under too much stress
Amor: or perhaps there are no explanations here in the physical world
Amor: and this story is, in fact, beyond belief
Amor: fact or fiction
4
Amor: arriving on the mysterious island, she encounters a hidden community living within the perimeter of three strange stone cairns
Amor: wait a minute
Amor: three cairns
Amor: three points on a triangle
Amor: three cairns
Amor: three points on a triangle
Amor: i think
Amor: i think there might be a connection
5
Barker: hold on there, gemma
Barker: i'm calling bullshit
Barker: now you're saying it's three points on a triangle
Barker: but earlier you were talking about FOUR fingers and four dots
Amor: yeah but what if it turns out there's a FOURTH cairn?
King: whoa!
King: plot twist!
6
Amor: on this mysterious island, she finds a secret community holding a weird festival within the perimeter of three strange stone cairns
Amor: where everyone is drinking beer from beakers
Amor: and the occasional Erlenmeyer flask
Amor: so naturally she asks the obvious question
Amor: which is, hey, are those trees over there indigenous
7
Poe: so uh
Poe: are the trees indigenous?
Amor: no!
Amor: in fact the trees are not indigenous
Amor: people planted them here
Barker: glad we got that cleared up
Amor: shut up, it's going to be important later!
8
Amor: people planted the white pines
Amor: hence the name of the town is
King:
Poe:
Lovecraft:
Koontz:
Barker:
Amor: white pines
King: WHOA!!!!
Amor: coincidence????
9
Amor: but then the whole town mysteriously disappears
Koontz: oh no!
Amor: possibly through some sort of dimensional rift or portal
Amor: bits of it come back all brundleflied
Amor: it's not a pretty sight
Amor: it's pretty fucked up actually
10
Amor: in the end, the woman turns into a tree
Amor: look around you
Amor: there are many things to see
Amor: some you'd say
Amor: could never be…
