@guffo no, but I have a very simple SDR and have used it to Break Things in the past.
Whaddyawannaknow?
@WiteWulf WELL, I have a Nooelec NESDR mini 2. The antenna that comes with it is pure anus. I want to get a new antenna but it's all numbers and acronyms and I've no idea what I'm doing.
I just want to set it up so I can receive interesting things
@guffo ah WELL, you have to decide What Sort Of Interesting things you want to receive, know what frequency range they're on, and get an antennae that a) matches the frequency, and b) matches the antennae connector on your SDR (probably SMA).
You can get adapters to fit different types of connectors together, but each on you add loses a few dB of signal.
@matt303 is into his ham radio and may be able to give more specific advice (including Here Be Dragons where licensed spectrum is involved)
