Sometimes I wonder: before the Internet and Google, we believed access to information would move use closer to a #utopia of ideas and thought. We all see how that turned out.

What does that mean for the utopia being marketed to us about #ai? What does that future look like? If history repeats itself, as it almost always does, optimism is difficult.

What do you think?

@slothemon I am terrible that way decades ago I studied information science. I remember getting the sense that in my text books information age was seen as salvation of humanity. The next level of our existence.
I remembered writing once in my answer to a question. I hope someone remembers to plant the seeds and milk the cows. Again the gift of information to access humanity again pushed. Too far greed then people - noticed POWERFUL it is. So that's what we are living with today.

@AmosJH that is such a powerful statement "I hope someone remembers to plant the seeds and milk the cows." I think it gets at the core concern with the future we are heading toward: not everyone will benefit from AI and we will continue to need people to do non-technical work. If AI moves some people forward, while leaving even more behind, I struggle to see it as a good thing.

@slothemon I said it in my first message - oh yes thank you for your kind words! Your articulation resonates with you because of the way you think and use words strengthened by the conviction in your heart. ( James Hollis a Jungian writer imprinted me with the word resonate! He said it means re - sounds in my inner Being!) So when I read something or hear something and I feel it inside my heart and stomach area. I realise it is resonating thus important not just conceptual!👍

@slothemon This may be a bit AGAIN I only recently learned this and are still trying to experience untying myself from this! If I measure my personal level of difficulty with this. Humanity may have............... however not shifting is not an option. ( The only option is the easy or hard way !!! ") I am not the work I do!"
