News from the Kickstarter campaign to print Pepper&Carrot books 1 to 4 in English and Italian: it's going well after three days! It was fully funded in just a few hours, and the artbook tier has now been unlocked. Great!

Edit: I removed the "already in hardcover" part of my message because I just saw on the Ks page it will be unlocked after crossing 4K €, and the campaign is not there yet (src. see Stretch Goals on the table of content of the page). Sorry for the inaccuracy, and I love the "edit button" here to offer me to fix things like that. 😅

Edit of the edit: (edit-ception!) 50minute later. Ok, it's over 4K € now, hardcover unlocked! You are amazing.

@proedie Yes, 12€ the softcover and €52 for the five (book 1 - 4 and Artbook) so less than 10,50€ , hard to beat, especially within Europe (the shipping cost are excluded, so think of this additional cost too).

I got bad luck with the print-on-demand auto published version I manage: their print booth closer to Europe is in England, and since Brexit, the price of paper and export made the whole deal really bad. The hardcover is at $26.99 right now (edit: when I launched, it was 18$ afair)...

@davidrevoy I backed the Kickstarter because of it being shipped from within the EU. Import fees can be quite expensive, especially with the almost 20 euros processing fee the post office charges.

@annun Thank you, and oh yes. The FAQ https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sillystudios/pepperandcarrot-1-4/faqs mentions that Silly Studios do not include shipping and will only be charged at the end of the Kickstarter, and the price fork they write:
5€ Italy
5€ to 10€ within Eu
10€ to 25€ rest of the word
So the final invoice can grow a bit.

@montaropdf Hey, it's not a version Silly Studios wants to make because another publisher does it way better: check the version printed by Glénat in France. It's in all bookstore and online shop at 11,50€ , with a larger format, deeper color and better paper and hardcover.
A price/quality only a big publisher like Glénat can get with the volume they sell (Book 1 crossed the x10 re-printing)

@raven Thank you! Oh yes. They really tried hard to put all their other series as part of the 'packs' and it really makes things more complex. I even read a comment by "Renée" about it on the Ks page...

@davidrevoy @raven The Murder Drones kickstarter did the same thing. So many different options including other works, but they also had alternative covers and foils on top of those.

@dmoonfire @davidrevoy Oof. I get the necessity of duplicating everything when you've got English and Italian bundles, so that's just unavoidable. (Unless there was a survey stage after completion that let you choose your language.)

@raven @davidrevoy Yeah, a "click what you want" or ala carte choices makes it harder to upsell but also wasteful for a lot of my support since I rarely want the stickers and buttons that get thrown (not in this case).

Oh well, already threw my few cents in.

@TrimTab  Thank you! I hope they'll deliver quickly after the end of the campaign and without any bad surprise.
I have no doubt the quality will be good (I reviewed it here https://www.davidrevoy.com/article1118/welcome-to-silly-studios-a-new-publisher ) and according to what I see from their previous Ks (eg. Silly Gods) they took a couple of months between the Ks (July) and the delivery of the books (1st Dec). They might even be quicker this time, it's not their first Ks anymore.

@remymosZ It's the decision of Silly Studios, one of their "enhancement" (always suggestive) to the series. I was ok with it as long as they are not touching the speechbubbles and dialogs . They'll just change the font to their.
