It's amazing how deeply ingrained the class system is in the uk to the point that it applies to car models.

When I drove a mercedes c63, I NEVER got lights flashed at me for overtaking. never.

Now I drive a toyota GR yaris, which idiot small penised mercedes 'amg' (means nothing now) drivers don't recognise, I get flashed for _overtaking_ ALL the time.

'How dare a toyota overtake a mercedes'

But of course this being Britain if you had it out with them they'd deny that and claim I was being 'dangerous' or something.

Hateful shite, hate that about this country

@ljs I would guess it's perceived as an insult to the overtaken driver:

- I was overtaken by a faster car, it makes sense, the car is too powerful.
vs
-I was overtaken by a slower car, which means I am actually a worse driver

Because a lot of people still perceive day to day driving with an f-in race.
