"Her father doesn't want her. The Fei family doesn't want her. I will have her no matter what."
The way Dajiao just says, "So what?" when people gossip about her being "violated" by bandits. He doesn't even speak up to correct them. 🥹

Yessssss give me all of the shy, sincere, endearing small gestures of love. All of it..... 🫠🫠ðŸ«
Polish a small mirror. Get her the toothpaste she really likes. Know where she hides when she's sad. Tell her things to make her feel better/supported and back it up by repeating it to the people who need to hear them. Gaze lovingly at her as she sleeps off a fever. Adjust that blanket so her shoulder doesn't get cold.

These later episodes of #cdrama #ThisThrivingLand are getting way too close to reality for me right now. Imprisoning radical leftists for wanting to feed their starving neighbors?
😩
This escapism isn't any fun any more.
I thought Susu and Humpback Gao had great chemistry for the whole series. They could've been happily schtupping for over a decade, now, if they just let themselves!
But Madam Fei really cracked. Trying to maintain expectations nobody had of her anymore, and with no control over the people necessary for it to succeed.
That poor baby girl. Dajiao really collects all the lost folks, doesn't he?
There was a LOT of things happening in this show.
Basically their entire way of life changed in less than 100 years.
I wish we got to see Dajiao bring Xiuxiu to Grandfather Ox to introduce her as his wife. That would have been a nice tie-in.
They kind of threw the kitchen sink into the plot lines. Even gambling and salt flat thievery and that D/s marriage that was unexpected! And who was Kela's father?
High production value!
