Im thinking some sort of open carry “protectors of the vote” group needs to be formed.
dual_sport_dork 🐧🗡️Unfortunately, most of the polling places in my state (and probably many others) are conveniently located at schools, libraries, or other government buildings which have long since been declared Gun Free Zones.
You’d get arrested just for showing up. Otherwise you’d all have to mill around outside the property line which in most cases would be quite some distance away, where you can be safely ignored and/or not be able to see anything that may be going down inside anyway. And the “gun free zones” around schools specifically here extend for quite some distance away from the school property itself, IIRC several hundred yards.
I think a fair number of folks would be alright with local parents bringing their guns to their kid’s school, if it keeps children from being snatched by masked men in vans.
Armed checkpoints might also work against ICE traffickers getting to the voting stations. Masked, wrong plates, or not part of the security force? Citizen’s arrest.
