danc4498Democratic governors that are letting ICE do whatever the fuck they want in their states need listen up.
Set the precedent NOW that ICE can’t do whatever they want in your state without intervention from local police and national guard or else you are going to lose every election from here on out.
If I was a governor, and I heard that ICE was on its way, I’d station Troopers at every border crossing into my state, and pull over every ICE vehicle that crosses. Record their IDs, photograph their faces, search their vehicles, etc., and hang them up for a while, and let them know they will not be having a good time in the state.
And let every hotel, restaurant, and business know that anyone who serves ICE will not be getting any future business from the state.
LimeranceICE uses lots of civilian vehicles. If you want a hard border that checks every vehicle, I don’t know if state troopers have the manpower to do that for an extended amount of time. This is also legally difficult territory. What should state troopers do if ICE doesn’t comply? Do you believe four troopers at a checkpoint will risk a shootout with a dozen armed ICE agents?
Will ICE shoot state troopers? Then try to be effective in that state after that?
I say we have the confrontation, and see what happens. My guess is that the ICE Apes back down.
