Anarchy in the UK

A philosophy webcomic about the inevitable anguish of living a brief life in an absurd world. Also Jokes

@Glamazon tho idk the whole "a crowd of anarchist men are liberating women" is pretty patriarchal and definitely not consistent with history. More like the other way around lmao

@scott

agreed, but this is from a webcomic and the general tone of the webcomic over time displays a more feminist forward tone that helps inform context.

The comic does show in the background that the first thing the authorities do when they arrive is repress the women and destroy the books.

Comedy can be a focused form of criticism even when it is historically inaccurate. Let's not confuse the purposes of the medium. If people want to read the history of actual movements, I encourage them to, but today I'm happy with hitting the high points and agreeing that the monopoly on violence impedes progress even when peaceful methods are used to persue said progress.

Also, since this became popular please check out and engage with the creator's work as a whole.

@Glamazon I'm reading Doctorow's "Walkaway" ATM and while it's very american it does get the basics of anarchism right which is a welcome change.

@moz

I love book recommendations!

@Glamazon You're welcome! Sadly the Doctorow humble bundle deal has expired.
@Glamazon is the anarchist in the middle meant to be anyone in particular? my best guess was Stirner but that's a stretch...
