Shingami Eyes for Class Warfare

This would never fly due to, like, privacy and anonymity online and all but like... what if there was a UI layer where you could see how much someone made last year, and where it came from? Like They Live glasses that could show you plainly how people who tell you that you don't really need things like health care or education are just lobbyist owned dumpsters who never made an honest buck in their lives? You could also compare and contrast wages with cohorts in your industry, plainly see the benefits of unions etc.

Consider that *they* already have this information about *us* and use it daily to make decisions against our well being, targeting ads and fixing prices. So why the fuck not?

@action_jay using #OSINT would not proclude that.

  • Tho this needs some real legal precedent that CxO's at certain comoany size or people at certain income levels are to be considered "public figures" that cannot claim "privacy" to cop-out.

Granted in those cases I'd reserve an extra colour for "person actively worked towards suing us into removal of data" kinda *red flag

  • Personally I won't launch it but feel free to fork the #ShinigamiEyes code (cuz it's #FLOSS!) and implement it yourself...
I know in my cohort at Crown Corporations all our pay is public information due to disclosure reports. I'm no coder but I am petty and seriously considering updating my address book to attach dollar values to middle management
@action_jay That's a bit like the society in Corey Doctorow's "Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom" except, instead of money, it's a social score that ends up getting used instead of money. If you have a high rating, people will trust you to pay them back with some good or service at some later date. Like helping a friend move, they're your friend, so you're not keeping score, but you trust that they'll help you at some point. It's that, but given a public score and expanded to all of society.
