NetNewsWire 7.0 for iOS was just submitted to the App Store, which means it should show up in the next few days (possibly as soon as today). đŸŁđŸ„đŸŽ‰

Cool Liquid Glass stylin’s by @stuarticus.

@brentsimmons @stuarticus đŸ„łđŸŽ‰ I’ve been using the TestFlight betas since the first 7.0 release and am a happy Liquid Glass user! Looking forward to migrating to the stable release when it’s available in the App Store. Thank you for all your hard work! NetNewsWire is seriously the best RSS reader out there for the Apple ecosystem.
@brentsimmons @stuarticus Great! đŸ€© Any plans for adding preview/thumbnails to every article? I know this isn’t rss standard but I like it very much on FreshRSS or Feedly.
@shrugg1e @stuarticus It’s something I’d like to do, but I can’t predict when we’d get to it.
@brentsimmons @stuarticus thank you very much for the screenshot. Besides new look is anything new for this update? I really like app on the Mac, but it is hard for me switch on iPad, as I use it with keyboard and for example cursor navigation is not working the same. I can’t go back to folders using left arrow. Do you have plans to adjust that?
@krgorny @brentsimmons keyboard navigation works for me on Magic Keyboard.
@krgorny @stuarticus What kind of keyboard do you have? Which model iPad?
@brentsimmons @stuarticus I have iPad Air 11” and iPadOS26 with 3rd party ESR keyboard, but I can pair it with Logitech MX Keys and it works the same. By my earlier comment I mean that when I am in the folder, I can go to next and previous article by pressing up and down arrow, but left arrow doesn’t work in case I would like to exit the folder. Maybe it is like that because on iPad I am in two columns view and left arrow doesn’t work in this view?
@brentsimmons @stuarticus Also when I am inside the folder and I am in two columns view, if I read all articles from it, and when I press „N” to go to next article, app doesn’t go to next article from next unread folder. On Mac when I finish reading articles from one folder I usually use left arrow to exit that folder then down and right arrow to go to the next folder. On iPad it doesn’t work that way.
@brentsimmons @stuarticus Hello. I wanted to let you know that I tested version 7 of NetNewsWire on iPad, and probably thanks to that app is sticking to three column layout, now cursor navigation works the same, like on Mac. I suppose that problem of earlier version was that when I "entered" the folder, app hides left column, and navigation only sticks to the current folder view and left arrow didn't worked for exiting the folder.
@brentsimmons @stuarticus When I try the same scenario on NNW 7 and hide left column, then I see only middle column with articles list and right column with article view, then again left arrow doesn't exit the folder. Anyway this is very fine for me, because I prefer 3 column layout and I don't have plans to hide left column with folders list. I don't know if earlier versions of NNW were able to always view left column, but now default behaviour of version 7 makes me happy. Thank you!
