fraggle@Yuvalne @paulnotpaulie @bornach this is me in the screenshot. I originally posted it on mastodon back in like 2018 and it got a lot of attention. The instance I was using (octodon.social) closed about a year ago. I reposted as a yt comment several days ago and it's had lots of attention
I independently came up with it, albeit inspired by other "paradise city" memes I'd seen. Have subsequently seen that others have come up similar parallax city things like the one you linked which predate it
@paulnotpaulie @bornach @fraggle i think the fight over originality is pointless. you've made a great joke and made thousands of people laugh. so thank you for that, regardless of if someone came up with it before.
