Tom Grant@TomGrant91 @FreakyFwoof here is the one that Andre did that I just felt I wanted to try to play along with. this wasn't edited in any way, meaning I wasn't trying to be something good. I just let the music guide me, and I just played live. I was just winging it.

@TomGrant91 @FreakyFwoof I actually have fun doing things like that. I used to do that all the time in highschool in one of the drum rooms we had. I would either play along with songs I had on a cassette, or I wouold just turn on the radio, pick a station, and just play along with songs that were playing on the air. sadly it is getting harder to use my drum kit with the arthritis in my fingers now, but I still do try it from time to time.
@JamminJerry @FreakyFwoof snap! I would tune to a station, hear a tune like wigfeeld saturday night, find some drums on a keyboard, play along, then find the piano, then jam along with the chords.
Andre Louis@TomGrant91 @JamminJerry I have a series on youtube I haven't done in ages but I should, called 'Groove' where I just take something I've made and drum the hell out of it. A bit of a drum shred if you will. Should send you something to listen to.
@FreakyFwoof @TomGrant91 the only thing I can really do something like with is drums. I was never any good at just randumly jamming on a keyboard to something, but give me a drum set, or a drum pad, or something, and I have all kinds of fun. I also have a very old program someone wrote for windows that allows me to use my computer keyboard as a drum kit, and if you know how to make the files, you can even create your own drum kit for it. I don't know who wrote it, but I like it. it has several drum kits in it already, but I don't ahve sounds I could load into it to make a kit.

@JamminJerry @TomGrant91 Yup, and nobody said it ain't. You do you and have fun doing it. Drums is a passion of mine, been doing that for about 30 years. I'm still not as good as I want to be.
@JamminJerry @FreakyFwoof @TomGrant91 take it from someone who's been a drummer for 36 years period sometimes, it's not about getting fancy. It's about having fun and doing what you love and letting your passion show through.

I got to pick on you a bit there you know. both you and andre are just extremely awesome, but hey, I do what I can even with good old arther in my fingers, and I also suspect a bit of carpal tunnal as well.
@JamminJerry @FreakyFwoof @TomGrant91 but that came from years and years of practice. I would almost rather see someone who can't play that good, but has a lot of passion and care for what they do. There are way too many flashy drummers out there who can't just keep a basic groove.
@darren_duff @FreakyFwoof @TomGrant91 I wish I would have had something in the years and years that I couldn't play drums. I did it a lot in highschool. I was even on the school band, and played at football, and basketball games. once I graduated, I didn't get to play anything drum wize until I got a program for windows that let me use the keyboard as a drum set. lol. that was maybe around 2016 I think? the person stopped doing anything with it in 2012, but I didn't hear anything about it until 2016. so for almost 22 years, I didn't have anything, but I kept tapping out things on my desk when I was moved to do so. smile.
@darren_duff @JamminJerry @TomGrant91 Pocket is one of the most important things you can be. In a band, it's not always about how much you do, it's more about what you bring to the table.
Joseph King@FreakyFwoof @darren_duff @JamminJerry @TomGrant91 Darren and Andre speak the truth here. Pocket is far more important than flash. It doesn't matter how flashy you are. IF you can't hold a groove down and let it speak for itself, there's a problem.
