Im surprised we dont see its retinas, seeing mow much light must be getting in

Hmm…I wonder if we’d just get glare from the tapetum without equipment. That’s the membrane at the back of the eye that we see glow in the eyes of dogs/cats/deer/etc. It gives a wider area of the retina the ability to make use of available light in low light conditions.

On a side note, I did find a pic of an owl retina and it looks like Jupiter getting hit by a huge meteor! I’m not great on eye anatomy, but I believe the funny looking black part is the macula.
