"Rye is an experimental alternative to poetry, pip, pipenv, venv, virtualenv, pdm, or hatch" Are you guys hearing yourselves? Are you alright?
One of these days I'm gonna make a positive post about something but it's gonna have to be a day where nobody puts Python, AI, or a Microsoft product in front of me.
@mandelhorn i even know a few more not on this list. it's discombobulating to say the least.
@lritter Python, CMake, and Raspberry Pi are three things that in my eyes for the same reason are a complete loss and should just start over under a new name, because all three of them went:
1. Cool Idea
2.Took a few iterations to get right
3. You will never purge the search engines of the old, now wrong, advice
4. Impossible to use now, because whatever you do, you google, you find 12 different responses, none of them work, and the secret correct 13th way is on page 4 of the search results
@mandelhorn @jannem It’s experimental, so we should probably use it in production. πŸ€ͺ
@mandelhorn Isn't Rye now absorbed into uv? I've heard nothing but positive things about uv, tbh.
@mandelhorn
Can we seriously stop conflating developer tools; and application distribution and installation?
@jannem Their words, not mine.πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
@mandelhorn
Not aimed at you 😁
