Fuck ICE
Fuck ICE
I agree with the sentiment, but I will clarify, people know the names of two of the 9 people not solely because of their skin colour…
But those two were violently murdered on camera in front of a crowd. No footage of the other 7 incidents is publicly available so far from what I’ve checked. Other than Keith Porter, the rest were in ICE custody at the time of murder, so no cameras present to immediately disprove the administration’s bold-faced lies.
See this article for info on 8 of the 9. Latest on the 31 Dec 2025 murder of Keith Porter.
I agree that the whole “you only care because they’re white” sentiment is doing more harm than good.
People really need to understand human impulses and why people turn away from better choices and better reasoning. The left broadly has made this mistake so many times about so many issues that we’ve basically lost all our ground, and we’re still out here doing the finger-wagging bullshit.
I sometimes think this movement is getting what it deserves just for being stupid, but then realize the message isn’t sinking in at all so it’s just depressing.
This is by the design of our system. It’s significantly easier to arrest and detain minorities in minority neighborhoods without any evidence of the crimes of ICE. The fact that we have 7 actual cases we are aware of for these crimes by ICE should really raise a red flag that there areany many more that we are not even ware of. And this just murders we are talking about. We will find out in the coming years of rape, abuse, and other crimes these Nazis have done.
Pretti and Good are the examples that should upset us not just for the injustice done to them. But also be seen as a question to all; what do they do when the cameras aren’t on them?
In full agreement. The amount of people getting intruded, kidnapped, roughhoused is so large, that it seems most Minneapolis residents have two degrees separation or less with someone who had their rights and personal safety violated by ICE. Most of these incidents aren’t on camera.
Yes, I acknowledge that race is one of the largest factors ICE had Lunas Campos et. al in custody to begin with. However, I’m pushing back on the totally unnecessary holier-than-thou smugness and shoe-horning of identity politics when calling for respect for all of ICE’s murder victims. It takes away from the solidarity needed to put the focus on investigating and stopping ICE’s crime spree.
I do think the racial component is way too important to not emphasize it. This is happening nation-wide and, in the USA, 61% of the people is considered white, black people amount for 12% and native, mixed and other Hispanics, which are probably Latinos, are ~10% of the population, yet, these account for ~50% of the murders.
Pretti and Goodman were killed because they opposed to ICE, not because they were brown people, but most were murdered in custody and they were not white.
Sure I agree but can we we just list all the names of the people affected without the cringe “You only know about the white ones” bait for disengagement? We want to capture as many as people as possible into this movement against fascism, it’s just fucking not the time to finger-wag and shame and even imply that we’re not all on the same fucking side here.
Also, sure, fine, great. Impeaching Noem and “abolishing ICE” is good, but why is that the thesis? Why is that our goal? why isn’t it “Impeach, overthrow or primary every politician who has enabled this fascist takeover of America”?
Something about this whole message feels a little off, and we need to be careful for any traces of divisive language and narrow goals for what we want.
I think everybody understands that ICE Apes are killing all sorts of people, but I think the Good and Pretti deaths have become lightning rods because first, they were filmed, and second, because they were both clear cases of execution.
If we had video of the other deaths, and they proved to be just as heinous, and not in response to a brandished weapon for instance, then they’d be just as notorious. It was the video that made the biggest difference in blowing up these incidents, which is why it is a big win that ICE seems to be adding body cameras to all their Apes.
For those who want to believe that the only reason that we are getting upset about Good and Pretti is because they are white, should remember that there was widespread national outcry over the video torture murder of George Floyd, and the execution of the sleeping Breonna Taylor. Most Americans get just as outraged by the official murders of any American citizen, not just the white ones.
That said, I will acknowledge that these victims being white have done a lot to make MAGAs question ICE policies, while they wouldn’t have cared if they were POC.
It’s video, from multiple angles, that made the difference, not their race.
Just to back this up, the 32 ICE murders in 2025 didn’t involve US Citizens.
www.theguardian.com/…/ice-2025-deaths-timeline
Keith Porter was also a US Citizen, but we don’t have high quality video of the dude being executed from multiple angles in broad daylight.
That said, I will acknowledge that these victims being white have done a lot to make MAGAs question ICE policies.
Are you sure? Because I just see MAGAs making jokes about about ICE is doing “Pretti Good” work
Who were they protesting in support of? White people?
Stop trying to divide us racially.
I totally get it and it sucks. I’m grossed out that the media didn’t pick up the non white people.
However the moment people were told, they stood up and I think that’s great.
Purity testing is the greatest enemy of the left (or maybe it’s bad tofu?)
The right looks for allies, the left looks for traitors. We can’t let mistakes and misunderstandings divide us.
