This tiny piece was meant to be an experiment. Used gold paint for underpainting, and as a result, it has a soft glow, but no glittery feel. I finally framed it and took it to the gallery, and it was sold in two days. This is what I'll miss leaving the gallery; the direct feedback that people loved what I painted. The simplicity, the everyday scene had something that appealed to them.

Meanwhile, my resignation from the gallery has been annouced, and the woman who basically pushed me to make the decision to leave was like "we'll miss your paintings." Is it a totally lack of self awareness, or a public dis? Maybe both.

I can only imagine how difficult it must've been to resign, but thank you so very much for sticking up to your values!! Folks need to understand that there is no place for being indifferent to fascism. If the life costs are not high enough for them, maybe the business costs will be.
