@janbeta if you've never had an Ultimate device (or a Turbo Chameleon), that will be game changing for you.
I'm saddened that Gideon has ended production of his Ultimate Elite boards though. I have 6 remaining breadbin cases from retrofuzion's kickstarter (I couldn't decide which colour I wanted, so I got one of each). I'd had intended to build them all out with Ultimate Elite boards and share amongst family and friends. Now I just have 6 empty cases with nothing to out in them.
@dexterous I have a 1541 Ultimate II+ and I absolutely love it. It’s going to be nice to have that (and more) functionality integrated in the machine. :)
Yeah, the situation with the Ultimate boards is unfortunate indeed. You can still put original C64 boards into those cases though, I guess. But of course not what you intended. :/
@janbeta yeah I'm just a bit pedantic about my gear. I do have a collection of original breadbins, but thats exactly what they are - original. I don't want to sacrifice them to put in new coloured cases.
The other options I have are the new board replicas, but then I'd need to find all the big custom ICs (or use newer replicas where possible). Original can still be found but they certainly are becoming scarcer and more expensive. There's also the c64 reloaded mk2, but that also needs CIAs, VIC, CPU and SID[s].
@janbeta yeah. I like emulation on a PC, but would feel dirty in a breadbin case!
I believe BMC64 was written by Randy Rossi, same guy behind the Kawarii.
