I’ve been on a bit of a printing tear lately. Who says you can’t print a 35mm negative at 13” x 19”. I wanted to see how this photo looked printed as large as I could on my Epson P900. I love this printer. I love printing.
@tomnorthfilm I am terrible at printing! I've finally got an Epson ET-8550 and can make black and white prints that really are. But it's so much trial and error! Printing a #PostCardFromAfar and I printed 3 b&w scenes on 7x5, one twice, then the selected low key scene 3 times on matte and twice on oyster, before getting somewhere near acceptable. All using ABW and printing via EPL. 1/2
@tomnorthfilm The ET-8550 has a pigment black which gets used with ABW. I know it's not as good as a full pigment ink set, but it's much smaller, as tanks, and passes for a household printer most of the time.
@carusb My XP15000, which I believe is the spiritual predecessor to your printer, does a reasonable job with B&W, although I do sometimes get a magenta cast. I got this printer to use when we were hosting photography workshops at our country place (since sold). I still, use it for 4x6 prints and quick print jobs. It does especially well with color prints.
