@martintheg it is, indeed, quite literally a weed. Planted by accident when a seed came in on the root ball of another plant 175 years ago when the tenement in the background had just been built, it's somehow survived ever since. This includes surviving the blitz of Clydeside in WWII, the tenement clearances of the post-war year, and most recently the wave of Ash dieback disease sweeping across the UK. It's known as the only tree on Argyle Street and is a great survivor. 👍🙂

@thisismyglasgow Oh wow, it is a survivor. I have an Ash in front and behind my house. I love the shade they provide but little else.
