David Littleproud survives National Party leadership spill

The Nationals leader David Littleproud has stared down an attempt to throw him out of the top job. It's set up eleventh hour talks with Liberal leader Sussan Ley tonight on the eve of the next parliamentary sittings and there's no certainty over whether they will find common ground.

@stufromoz that backbench pudding was never a stalking horse, those need friends in some position of power within the party. It was always about delivering a message clearly and publicly. Job is done.
