The European Commission is pushing hard to extend Chat Control 1.0 - allowing mass scanning of private messages without court orders for another two years. Contact your MEPs TODAY via https://fightchatcontrol.eu/ to defend your privacy and digital rights!
@chatcontrol very important thing: contact MEPs from LIBE, first the shadow rapporteurs, then the rest
@gruby @chatcontrol guess today it's email day
@Kurosetii already did so. managed to mail some MEPs + LIBE rapporteurs
@gruby I still didn't because I just woke up lol, how do you send email to everybody without creating a group? I kinda suck on sending emails

@Kurosetii on fightchatcontrol site you can find emails to MEPs from selective countries.

I already managed to send to AT, DE, LU, FR, BE. going to send more later today

@gruby I just sent my email to Cyprus, Germany and Italy are next
@Kurosetii I did Netherlands, Greece, Cyprus and Spain... I planned to send an email to Italy but I got locked for 20 hrs XD
@gruby make another email

@chatcontrol How can it be that almost all members of the German parliament are opposed to it at a national level, yet Germany supports it at an EU level?

Have I got something wrong?

@Sibelius @chatcontrol They only opposed mandatory Chat Control, but don't care if Big Tech is empowered to deploy this mass surveillance at their discretion (without court order, including text scanning etc.)

@chatcontrol Alt text: screenshot of web interface: The EU (still) wants to scan your private messages and photos
The "Chat Control" proposal would legalise scanning of all private digital communications, including encrypted messages and photos. This threatens fundamental privacy rights and digital security for all EU citizens.

@chatcontrol I thought chat control got cancelled?
@KitsuneVixi @chatcontrol oh trust me when they say they did they didn't

@KitsuneVixi @chatcontrol mandatory scanning of messsages was removed from the Chat Control 2.0 regulation (it has age verification now as well) so they're trying to perpetually extend the existing 1.0

they tried the front door and the back door, but not the windows

@chatcontrol

Btw I sent my bunch of mails to Germany and maybe I will contact the other non-german ones (depending on how my own capacities).
Anyways just keep emailing them and generally keep up the pressure, now we have to be VERY PERSISTENT if we want to save our online privacy and fundamental rights.

As for the LIBE, for Germany it's Birgit Sippel (SPD or CDU) and if I'm not mistaken, also Moritz Körner (FDP but he's also part of the EU-Parlament).

@chatcontrol

Btw I also mailed France, Latvia, Luxemburg, Netherlands and Cyprus just to be safe. I'll do as much as I can, until then let's keep fighting against chatcontrol since this will be our last chance.

Don't stop mailing and keep going with the pressure, contact as many politicians aswell as memberstates as you can. It's better to attempt trying to make a difference than doing nothing at all.

@belladonnalily @chatcontrol Sorry but when will they have the meeting?

@Kurosetii @chatcontrol

If you meant the trilogue, it's 26 February 2026 for the second negotiation and according to the timeline of fightchatcontrol.eu about the expiration date for the "temporary" proposal it's for April 2026 to 2028 unless we keep up the pressure to make the politicians drop the expansion altogether.

I'll post the two screenshots for everyone to see, just in case.

@chatcontrol take notice that the act exclude politicians (and others). See it in the light of the #EpsteinFiles. Where rich and powerfull people are protected in any way. #trump #musk #bannin #andrew #mandelson and the list go on. #chatcontrol
@chatcontrol Thank you Joachim and Patrick. Will help with this once more!

@chatcontrol Can these people please stop it. I think there is enough evidence this is a bad idea with the news coming out of 'Murica the last days, right?

Who is still actually supporting this? Maybe I can just explain it to them directly.
