I’m still playing The Hundret Line: Last Defense Academy. But at least i’m able to say something about it. I finished the first part of the game and unsure how much i will be doing in the second half.

In case you haven’t played the game, it’s some kind of visual novel and tactical rpg in one. More visual novel in the second half of the game. And the tactical gameplay is more on the defensive side. You almost always have do defend the school or something else from dmg. I have played a lot tactial rpgs, and some of them had single defense missions, but usualy i would say The Hundret Line was different and interesting enough to differ from other games.

Besides the tactical gameplay of course there is a story, and it remind me of dangan ronpa, but probably isn’t as crazy. All characters are exaggeratedly written, but still kind of logical, so some degree. I still need to play the big part of the story, so kinda exited and hope to get a good ending

I’m playing Harvestella, which is an extremely good RPG with a farming minigame. Calling it a life-sim is quite the mischaracterization. I guess they felt that goes hand in hand with farming?

Anyway I’ve been extremely impressed with the writing - the sidequests in particular are very strong. The tone is earnest with a strong amount of wackiness which one might call Final Fantasy-esque.

Combat seems to have some XIV flavor, especially in the boss encounters: there are adds, telegraphed aoes, and dps checks.

Overall I’m enjoying it a lot so far.

I surprised myself by getting back into Magi Nation on the Game Boy Color.
There’s a mod that adds the missing dream creatures into the encounter tables (fixing an oversight in the original 2001 release).
This renewed interest is due to receiving my fulfillment for the recent card game kickstarter, and recommending it to my co-workers.
It’s just as quirky and fun as I remember.

I’m finally about to finish Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Overall I really enjoyed it but my god, it was such a slog.

Haven’t decided what I’m playing next.

I’ve recently finished playing through:

• Star Ocean: The Second Story: It’s an action RPG similar to the Tales of series, it was ok;
• Boktai: The Sun’s in your Hand: It’s anothe action RPG that has stealth elements (that for the most part don’t really matter), it also has a built-in solar sensor on the cartridge that you use for doing stuff in game, which is pretty cool, but it was also just ok;
• Breath of Fire IV: This one’s a turn based RPG, one of the prettiest games I’ve played so far, the combo mechanic was pretty engaging, unfortunately I wish there was more meat in the story, all in all it was pretty good.

I’m currently playing:

• Riviera: The Promised Land: It’s a tactical RPG with, from what I’ve read, romance mechanics, so for it has been enjoyable, the game so far feels very wordy with not much interesting writing, but maybe that’s just because I’m at the start of the game, the battles are the most fun part of the game for sure, still haven’t finished it so can’t say much.

In a bit of a funk and haven’t been playing much of anything. Did finish Dispatch a few weeks ago, which I think I enjoyed more on a technical/innovation level than for the story itself.

On the JRPG front, I’m still nibbling at Trails Beyond the Horizon. I’m about ten hours in and like what I’ve seen so far. Once I have more down time I’ll jump into it more, I’m sure.

Just got halfway through the copy of Final Fantasy 13 that I bought and never finished when I was, coincidentally, 13 y/o. Not sure what I’m going to go for afterwards, but I’m going through my Xbox backlog and options are between a few of the Tales games (Symphonia, Vesperia, Arise) or Ys Origin.

Currently finishing up my 100% run of Octopath Traveler II.

Planning to jump straight into Octopath Traveler 0 once done, but we’ll see. I doubt I’ll be done by the end of February at this point.
